The mouseover sidebars |
Just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on how to disable them? The setting/reference/statuswindow bars at the side, get very annoying and if you bump the mouse in combat over the wrong one it goes laggy. Is there an option to disable it?

You have two choices. You can move to them to an area in the screen where you're less likely to bump into them or you can close them altogether.
First you mouse-over the window in question so that it fly's out that and then click the push pin icon so that it stays out.
To move it to another location, right-click on the title bar and undock the window. You can then dock (as you would a normal window) at another portion of the screen. You can click the push-pin again and it will go back to fly-out mode.
Alternatively you can just close the window. |

To expand a little bit on what Tech said, you don't need to undock the window to move it around - just click on the titlebar and drag. You'll see this d-pad like icon appear in the middle of the window:
The four sides will dock it to that side, and the middle will tab it.
The windows that're there when CMUD starts aren't actually closed - they're just hidden. If you want to get them back, you can just click their name on the Window menu. |

One thing I don't like about the flyouts is that they seem far too sensitive. You don't need to pause the pointer on them, sometimes they fly out if you are moving the pointer over them, as if they just wait for the pointer to be on the control for a certain period of time. It should at least be an option to not fly out while the pointer is moving.

I actually like the fact that it flys out right away. Maybe it's how I have my layout setup, but I don't even close to the flyout unless that's what I want todo, and I'd rather not wait on it when I do.

I'll be adding timing options for the flyout windows in the future, but most people wanted the flyouts to display immediately, and that's also how flyouts work in most other applications that have them (Visual studio, etc).
Anyway, Fang is correct: If you don't like them, then just close the windows. When CMUD saves your session layout, it will save the fact that the flyouts are closed. So you can really customize it to have whatever windows you want wherever you want them. |

Awesome thanks mate. Now just fix it so cmud stops eating my prompt trigger on a regular basis and i won't have to plough my head through my monitor.

Murphy start a new topic describing what you mean (or reference an existing one). I'm not sure I quite get it, but I don't think CMUD should be doing what you describe.
