Troubles with connecting

Hello. I'm having troubles getting zmud to work.

It opens and everything but when I connect to a mud, any mud it times out and will just attempt to reconnect me over and over.

The thing is, recently I tried to open remote access on my comp so I could download torrents. Since turning off my comp after this zmud, and irc will not allow me to connect, including the nexus client on the mud's website.

I have no clue what I did or how to fix it...any help would be appreciated

You don't have to open remote access in order to download torrents. Opening certain ports on your comp firewall/router setup is enough.

well, regardless, zmud is not working- neither is irc, neither is the nexus from their website.

Any clues?

Did you inadvertently turn on your firewall when it was off before? Have you tried creating an exception for Zmud in your exceptions list? Did you uncheck exceptions to the firewall? Is your torrent software using the same ports that Zmud is trying to use to connect to the mud? As a test turn off your torrent software sometimes they load themselves up at startup.

Any of these things can cause what you are describing.

My first test would be to turn off my firewall and try to connect with Zmud. Mind you I would make sure my anti-virus was up to date before I tried this!
