[1.30] ALT-KEY8 |
Ok, this might be a very wierd question/bug.. but
when I press alt-key8...
It doesn't work consistantly any more... It works sometimes, but not always.
Anyone got any ideas? Have looked through my settings, and I cannot find duplicate macros for example. All other ALT-KEY* combos work just like before, but since upgrading to 1.30 (maybe even sooner) it doesn't seem to work properly anymore. It does however work sometimes, but not always. I cannot seem to distinquish a pattern either. I'm not sure if its for every time I start CMUD or if its per opening a session, or even switching to my tapped "Tells" window.
All other ALT-KEY* functions _always_ work.. Its just the ALT-KEY8 afaik thats messing around and gives "?"'s sometimes.. "+"'s other times...
Regards

I see what you mean... when you create a macro via the GUI and press Alt+Key8, the box is instead filled with "?" is if it hasn't recognised the combo pressed. And yes, NumLock is on.

I think Zugg talked about this earlier. I believe it has to do with Windows Key Trapping and mapping.
If you just type what you want, that should work. For instance when I want one for F5, I type it in instead of pressing the key, or in your case Alt-Key8.
I hope that helps.
[Edit]I change my position, I think the more likely culprit is the default short cut keys associated with the new script component in the settings editor. I'm guessing they are still be detected even in the name field. |

I remember him saying something about that for keys that would otherwise have a function, like the F keys. For normal keys (the arrow keys, home etc) it works and this shouldn't be an exception. Typing the words "alt+key8" or "alt+num8" into the box don't create a working macro.
Also, when you use the Actions->Create Macro method to create your macro, it doesn't recognise it as a key combination and open the package editor. |

Confirmed and added to bug list. I think Windows is reporting Alt-KEY8 as Alt-UpArrow, and somehow that is being filtered or trapped by some other component.

It does if you use Alt-Key8
Notice I use a '-' instead of a '+'. |
