[1.30] Fonts reverted to Courier New or Courier, command line font stuck

My command line font reverted to Courier New when I logged in. Changing the font in the Styles section of Preferences has no effect.

My fonts in my other windows have all changed to Courier, but it seems I am able to set those fonts correctly.

As I mentioned in the release announcement, fonts/colors loaded from some old packaged might not load properly the first time you use the new version. Once you reset them to the correct values, then they should save/restore normally.

Make sure you are changing the Command Line font in the "General" category of the Styles window. Then exit CMUD and reload and it should set your command line. If not, check your CMUD.INI file and see if the proper style is being saved. But I can't reproduce any problem with this here.

Nevermind...I see the problem with the command line font. Weird...it was working an hour ago. Not sure what screwed it up. Let me look and see if it's easy for a quick fix.

OK, I have uploaded a quick fix that should allow you to change the command line font properly. Just download and install v1.30 again. Thanks for reporting this so quickly.

Even after I have downloaded the fix, the "Session" font styles will not save. It is quite annoying to have to redo the font type and size every time I start up CMUD. No matter what I check or pick, they will always revert back to Courier.

My thanks,
dRb

Another "Fonts bug" I've noticed is if you go via Options -> Fonts you end up at Sounds

Ah darn I just posted about this and didn't notice this thread. Can someone delete my thread?

I was going to point out what both of you just said about the fonts not saving and also the Fonts link going directly to Sounds. I will add the editor font isn't saving either. The only font that saves for me is the Command Line font. Once I close and reopen CMUD all the rest revert back to default.

OK, I can't reproduce any of this. If your Session fonts are not saving, then send me your *.PKG file, since that is where they are stored and there must be something messed up in your file.

The Command Line, Editor, and Status stuff is all saved in your CMUD.INI file, which you can easily open in Notepad to look at. Maybe it's not saving your INI file to the correct directory for some reason.

Otherwise, I will need the exact steps that you are using to change the fonts to test this more. It all works fine when I try it on my systems here.

And yes, I know about the Options/Fonts going to Sounds. That's a minor issue but is on the bug list.

Well the exact steps would be clicking on Options from the file menu then clicking on General. I then click on Styles from Preferences dialog, find the Sessions folder and highlight Default...well here is a screenshot. As you can see it is back to the courier font already.

I just deleted everything AGAIN and reinstalled and it works fine now. Why are these packages getting corrupted so easily? I'm not even doing anything to them. I'm not even creating huge complex scripts. Sad

OldGuy, I have no idea how your packages are getting corrupted so easily. But v1.30 fixes some of the past corruption problems, so maybe it will remain more stable for you now. Most corruption problems seem related to dragging/dropping windows/modules to the wrong places instead of keeping them at the root level. This shouldn't be possible anymore in 1.30. But if it happens again, take a close look at what you are doing in the Settings Editor, or try to keep a journal of what changes you make and when the corruption problems start occurring.
