using zmud as a text editor, EX: notepad, wordpad

I've heard that you could force zmud to react to text files as though they were received from a mud, but could someone explain to me how I might be able to do this?

I would like to use the #TRIGGER options to do more extensive find/replace operations on text documents.
Also when you open zmud you usually need to specify which mud you would like to open.
If it is possible I would like to be able to click on a text document, and automatically open it in zmud and begin using these capabilities.
If someone has a plugin that does these things, it would be very helpful.
If someone has insite into using the offline capabilities of zmud, this too would be helpful.

Why would you want to use zMUD as a Text Editor? There are certainly better options available for download!

You can use the %read function to access the contents of a file, and then use #say to make them appear on the screen, firing triggers. But like Seb says, there are much better programs for this. Many of them have regex-based find and replace which can be very powerful indeed.
