[1.25] Variable arrays via settings editor

I have been having the issue where the settings editor is trying to save too fast. (due too other triggers firing?)

Unless i have my mouse pointer hovering over the save button and click it as soon as a paste in the new member, it does its autosave and pops me down to the next available number for the array.

And for some reason... that autosave only saves how it was, not how it is. If i go to another variable, and then back, i see the newly entered member is no longer there.

Sorry that I'm just now getting caught up on this. But I'm not sure what you mean by "variable arrays". Are you talking about string lists? The settings editor currently doesn't support editing of the COM-based arrays created by the %array command. So I'm assuming you are talking about either string lists or database record variables. Can you give me the exact steps that you are using and some example of the text in the variable you are editing? Assuming that this problem still exists in v1.26. Thanks.

I remember this. What was happening was that pretty much anything but the background updater/saver would not save any new entries you put into the stringlist via the GUI. They would stay there on-screen as long as you remained on that particular setting, but clicking off would reset the variable back to whatever value it had before you added stuff.

You might've fixed this when you fixed the GUI and other issues about the datarecord/stringlist editor, but I can't remember. As I recall, it also was messing with trigger patterns.

It should have been fixed when the datarecord/stringlist editor was fixed, but I think that was before the 1.25 version that this bug report was posted for. That's why I asked for more information since I cannot reproduce it in 1.26 but I didn't change anything from 1.25 to 1.26 that should have effected this.

Matt has described it to a tee.

I have a bunch of triggers that update other variables in the background, I can have 3-5 going off once a second depending on whats going on.

Yet whenever i go to add another member to my "string list" (used for coloring a bunch of strings the same way) in the settings editor, unless i click on save near instantly after pasting, it gets lost for the variable updates the triggers have spawned.

On a related note, i found this when i made a work around to the above: using %additem will change the settings editor from the 'autotype' or 'string list' views, to the 'string (expanded)' view.

OK, I have verified this bug and added it to the bug list. It's the background triggers/alarms that cause the problem. Hopefully I can get it fixed this week.
