#recall stopped working

I've recently become an Imm on Aardwolf and had to change my #recall point.
For some reason #recall no longer works.
I've done both "set Recall location" and "set Start location" while in mapping mode and non-mapping mode.
I go to some room type #recall and nothing happens.

The only way I could get it to work is by
1) setting a recall alias with ~recall;#tel <myroomnum>
or
2) setting a portal to <myroomvnum> AND setting an alias to recall me...

Neither of them bother me, but danged if I know why #recall don't work.

Bah, even that's not working now.
everytime i shut down zmud my maps go back to as if I did nothing with settings the start and recall.
as long as i'm running it it's fine. shut down zmud, restart it and back to being wrong.
*sigh*

Also, using 7.21, XP SP2 updated yada yada yada...
everything's the same. the only diff is that i got a new room that i use as recall.
*shrug*

from the ini file:

[Startup]
StartRoom=-30943
DoStart=1
PrevRoom=-1
RecallRoom=-30943

I have NO clue why they are being set with a - before the #'s!
