After playing MUDs for a couple of hours today (see other blog entry), I spent most of the day working on the mapper. The most frustrating part was that I couldn't reproduce most of the mapper problems being reported. I'm guessing the problem with English Directions not being loaded is more widespread than I had thought and is causing most of the problems.

I finished the day by going through all of the mapper dialog screens and converting them to use the newer themed controls that the rest of CMUD uses. This should clean up a lot of the UI issues. I also set the main mapper window so that the splitter bar between the map and the "nearby list" on the left is also hidden when the nearby list is hidden. Too many times when I was trying to resize the docked panel I accidentally grabbed the nearby list resizer instead.

I also added a new help topic on how to import zMUD files. Hopefully this will help people transition their files from zMUD properly and not do things that cause stuff like English Directions package to be lost. I think some people are just opening their zMUD files in the package editor instead of using the proper import routine.

I'm out of the office most of tomorrow. On Friday I'll try to tie together a few more loose ends and get the 1.25 version released. Even though it seems to work better than 1.24, I'll probably still call 1.25 a Beta version because of all of the changes I have made.

Well, v1.25 was sure the release from hell! Not at all what I needed with all of the stress around here right now. I hope it wasn't a mistake making this a public version.
