Editing settings freezes Zmud

Alright, so I just got Zmud and was fiddling around but now I seem to have shot myself in the foot.

I was playing around with triggers the other day and and now whenever I try to edit my settings zmud will just hang.

I think one my triggers created a whole bunch of class files (which I don't understand at all) and that might be eating up a whole bunch of memory. I would like to delete them but the dilemma is that I will need to edit the settings.

With the exception of one or two classes which upon deletion zmud just closes, I can edit the settings but on saving everything goes to hell.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you know which classes you want to keep and which you want to delete, you can delete them from the command line.

#class with no arguments will print the names of all your current classes (including subclasses).
#delclass will delete a class permanently.

I deleted my class files but now Zmud freezes when I try to close it and upon reopening all the classes reappear.

Maybe I'll export what I can and start from scratch. Btw are there any recommended learning material other than the help files and documentation? Fiddling seems to be pretty dangerous and I wasn't able to find any tutorials, books, or any other newbie-friendly guides on google.

I think the trigger that is causing me problems is the following.
Code:
" (*)hp (*)mp -> #VAR HpVar %1;#VAR ManaVar %2
"

My prompt is as follows and I think that when I added group members all the classes started appearing.
Code:
<51736/51736hp 6610/6610mp 6710/6710ap 2665274tnl 1245469g> [ - ] | 0/0hp | Nightmare 100%   *READY*  ( Tw Bu Sa Gi Ba ) ( Ps Sp Vi )

Not very fancy at all but it's giving me a lot of grief ><

I'm not sure why that would be causing classes to be created unless the slash is being interpreted as a path. You could probably benefit from more complex wildcards:

#trig {^(%d)/(%d)hp (%d)/(%d)mp} {#var CurrentHp %1;#var MaxHP %2;#var CurrentMana %3;#var MaxMana %4}

sort of thing.

Anybody have any ideas about what has gone wrong?

Also I notice the Z icon at the bottom of the taskbar that is usually glowing green, blue or red is now glowing yellow. What does that mean?

That means that ZMud is in the process of trying to connect to the game. Green is for new text, blue I think is when focus has moved away from ZMud, and red is disconnected.

Can you successfully operate on the settings file in Offline mode without the freezing? If so, I would go into offline mode and delete all the extra trash that might be causing ZMud to tailspin its way into memory-hogging oblivion. If you cannot do this without freezing then you're looking at a total loss of the settings file. You can try to salvage what you can by using notepad to read the .mud file, but it's not in a very human-friendly format and you might not be able to save everything about any particular setting.

Looks like it's a total write-off then. Thank you to all for the prompt response!
