Chat Forum for Cmud |
Does anyone know if there is a chat forum anywhere set up specifically for Cmud? If not, would anyone be interested in seeing one?

Well, no doubt there will be one once it's released. It might even be this one, just renamed. People have been doing their question asking and such in here regardless.

I guess I was referring to something like aol instant messenger or something similar with real time conversation, instead of bulletin boards... (Ok I selfishly want real time access to all the brain cells currently adding to thes board!!!)

Setting up a #CMUD channel on some network or other wouldn't be too difficult. I assumed since he said "chat forum" that he meant a forum specifically for discussing CMUD, rather than reporting bugs like this one.

Sorry, I don't use chat very often so I'm not quite sure what to call it, but Im thinking of some type of chat room, where one can log in and chat (via messages) on a real time basis with whoever else is logged in... Sorry if I havn't described it well... I guess the subjects would be zmud/cmud/zmapper.... Other zuggsoft products??? I wonder if Zugg would object? Zugg?

Well, it'd take about 2 seconds of effort to set up a room on Qnet or some other network. If enough people just piled into #CMUD on Qnet we could get a channel bot for it, and you're off.
EDIT: Or alternatively, I know a couple of guys who run small networks who wouldn't mind hosting a CMUD/zMUD/Zuggsoft channel somewhere quieter. I wouldn't want to set up something so official-sounding on my own, though :| |

What would be way cooler is if you could connect directly to a 'chat' channel from within a CMUD session window rather than needing a separate program for it, then you could dock it in the interface etc. Maybe a stripped back MUD engine with no area/mob/etc files? *shrug*

Rainchild: Just wait for the built-in chat support in CMUD later next year. It will have stuff like that :)
