The Theme selection should be stored in your INI file. It is not stored with the layout. CMUD currently assumes that you will use the same theme for all your sessions.
But the status window position *should* be saved with your layout.
I created a new session, then opened it Offline. Then I moved the mouse over the Status Window tab and clicked the pin icon to keep it open. Then I dragged it from the right side of the screen and docked it to the top of the main MUD window. Then I exited CMUD and restarted, and when I opened the test session offline, the status window was docked to the top just like it should be. |

i only use 1 theme for all sessions anyway, and mine doesnt save. same with the status window, ive tried both pinning it to the left (where it pops out) and in an upside down stonehenge config with my capture window. saves the capture window position fine.

My guess is that your layout file is corrupted. Try clicking the Edit button for your session, go to Files and clear out the layout filename (but leave the Use Layout checked). Then open the session, reposition the windows, then exit.
Also, be sure you have the AutoSave Layout option in the Layout menu enabled...maybe that got turned off for some reason. Also, if you load multiple sessions at the same time, the AutoSave Layout option is disabled automatically to avoid saving data from different sessions into your layout file and causing it to get messed up.
For the Theme I couldn't reproduce any problem:
1) Run CMUD. Close Session window
2) Select Aqua from the Theme menu to change the theme.
3) Exit CMUD and restart. It uses Aqua instead of the normal OfficeXP theme.
This is stored in your INI file, so maybe it can't write to your INI file for some reason? |

fabulous.. that fixed it.. looks like it was a corrupted layout file. i deleted the old, and did what you said, both theme and status window are saving position.
Thanks again :)

I can't get the layout to work... What I would like: The left half of the monitor should be the main mud window. The top half of the right half should be the mapper. The right half of the bottom half of the right half should be a "tell" window, a window I created to capture social gossip and such. The left half of the bottom half of the right half should be the status window. I get all of these windows positioned where I want them and save the layout. I then close and re-open, and the layout has changed. at first, it was not opening the window for the mapper... however after I locked and saved the layout again, for some reason it started working. Currently, I can't seem to get the status window to stay where it should be. Each time I open the session, it goes back to its tab home on the right hand side. Additionally, when I right click on it is moved to where I want it, the settings editor opens prompting to start a new status window within the main window setting. So my problems is ultimately how do I get the status bar to stay in the position I have described?
I posted this in another thread before I found this one... After I posted it, I tried the procedure Zugg laid out above, but did not have success. I had only two windows, the main window, and the status window. I started cmud, erased the .xly file name from the session, as well as deleted the .xly file. I then opened cmud, placed the status window under the main window, and closed cmud (with auto save enabled, and use layout checked in the session). I opened zmud, and the status window was not where I left it. In addition, when I right click on the status window when it's open, it opens the package editor and creates a new status bar... ? |
