[1.18] install does not choose the path you select |
I just did a full un-install (ad-remove programs) , then deleted the c:\program files\cmud directory
I re-insalled, and changed the destination directory to D:\program files\cmud
After the install, I went and looked, and cmud had installed in C:\program files\cmud
I was starting to doubt myself, thinking maybe I had screwed up when I entered the path (I only changed the first letter) but I just bounced into the registry to fix another problem, and found this
InstallDir REG_SZ d:\Program Files\CMUD\CMUD.exe
So that tells me, I did type it correctly.
I'm going to do another re-install right now, and completly wipe out the cmud key hkey_current_user/software/zuggsoft/cmud |

I am in the process if doing the install right now
I removed
hkey_local_machine/software/zuggsoft/cmud
hkey_current_ucer/software/zuggsoft/cmud
deleted the c:\program files/cmug directory
here is a screen shot of the screen to pick your data files location
notice that both selections are checked by default.

to get around this, I clikced on other, then clicked back on my documetns (the top radio button)
the install completed sucessfully, but cmud won't even start now. (it crashes)
I submitted a bug report, but I'm not sure you got it Zugg, because the program never sucessfully opened. Email me if you need details.
I just re-ran the install, and at the screen to select where your data files go, I clicked on other, then the middle option, and now cmud will run. |

I deleted the DataDir key and it's still not using My Documents.
As for your problem, ecourt, deleting all the registry entries might not've been a good plan :| |

Fang, this might belong in the other thread, about datafiles in my-documents -- this was more for installer issues, altho they are related....

Oh I see, sorry, I misread the first post. I knew there was a thread around for it, and thought I'd found it. Sorry.
