zMapper map used without zmapper in zmud |
Yes an obscure title, but what I was thinking of trying to do is this.
Create a base map for the mud I play, and distribute it, along with a few triggers, as a newbie start point.
However, I was thinking of adding detail with zmapper and wanted to know if newb's without zmapper would still see the origional map, and have it work as normal. Thus if they wanted the extra detail, they could get zmapper.
Regards

Yes, zMUD can read maps created by zMapper even if they don't have zMapper installed. Users without zMapper will just see the default room "squares" without any changes to size or shape, and won't see any enhancements like bitmaps, backgrounds, etc.
If you want to play with it in your own copy of zMUD, you can go to the Plugins menu and enable/disable the zMapper plugin. You definitely need to close the mapper and re-open it to see the changes, and I think you might also have to exit and reload zMUD, but I'm not sure. |
