I really only ever edit one map file. I'd -really- like to have the ability to open the last map I opened without having to navigate to it at that 'splash' screen.

Good idea. I'll add that to the to-do list.

I've also noticed that having the initial screen display a directory listing really slows down the startup, so I'll probably add a MRU list and then have a button for loading an existing database. Sort of like Office does where it let's you choose a recent file, a new file, or browse the directory.
