parsing out / ? |
I just installed zmud 6.39a and it parses out the '/' character. Why? How do I prevent that?
Thanks

If you had been reading the beta forum for the last week or so, you'd recall that Zugg has introduced more OOP functionality into ZMud's script language. If you need to use / and it's getting parsed out, include a ~ to literalize it so ZMud can safely ignore the character.

Unfortunately, I have not been reading the beta forum for the last week or so and I don't have that recollection. Is there an alternative to prefixing the / with a tilde every time I need to use it. It is a standard command on my mud, and it's a habit to use it frequently. The tilde prefix would be...uncomfortable.
Thanks

Since you've decided to become a beta tester, you should begin reading the beta forum now.
I suspect the answer is the same as any other special character, go the Prefs for special characters and disable or change it. However, this is just a guess, since I have refrained from testing any of the beta versions. The place to get your answer is on the beta forum.

What LighBulb said is correct, but that will only be true in the next version. Right now, you can't change/disable / as a special character, but you should be able to do so soon.

Kjata meant you can't disable/change it.. (yet)
If you want to try beta versions, you really should read the forum, so you don't get surprised by stuff like this.

Does anyone have any idea of when an update will come out with the ability to disable the parsing of the /?

Before Christmas
Zugg doesn't usually give exact dates for releases, but he said that he wanted a new public version before Christmas. Also, the fix will be in the next beta version, so it shouldn't be that long now.
