Certain mud output stops screen updating |
Hi guys,
I've had ZMUD forever, well quite a while and its suddenly developed this new problem. (CMUD does it as well)
I can be mudding away minding my own business when suddenly the screen stops updating although my commands go through.
I'm pretty sure its whatever the mud output is that stops it.
Sometimes it can be mobs saying things, room descriptions, going into rooms too quickly. All very strange.
It doesn't seem to be whatever I say as I can say it to other mobs and it doesn't hang. Colours don't seem to bother it either.
Any ideas what it could be?

Try checking your triggers for a #GAGON call, that might be your problem. Alternatively, if it happens again you could try typing #GAGOFF into the command line. That's all I can think of it being if it's happening in both clients.

Are you using #WAIT in triggers in ZMud? That's a known way to stop output in ZMud. It's the main reason for the #WAIT IS BAD!!! response from gurus, Zugg, and knowledgeable zmudders. If that's what the culprit is in ZMud, not sure why it's also happening in CMud since Zugg's response to the whole affair in CMud was "Oh, yeah, it's fixed now, #WAIT no longer has the problems it does in ZMud." (followed by lots of cursing and hair-pulling and general unpleasantness surrounding the introduction of threading).

Maybe you have it set to gag any line containing your password.
View->Preferences->General->Script Parser remove the check from gag password |
