'Down' exit added to every new room created on map

I am getting a 'down' exit added to almost every new room when automapping. The only thing I have changed in my MUD configuration was to remove a line wrap length on messages received from the MUD

Have you tried to reconfigure the mapper yet?

Good idea. I did play around with some of the settings, but maybe a clean configuration would solve the problem

Please post a sample of the room text from typing look on one of the rooms that adds the down exit.

Also, are you using the #tag command anywhere?

Here is a room description for one with a phantom 'down' link. It happens whether or not an 'up' exit is listed for the room

Before the western cliff.
The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. From here, the snow-capped mountain peak seems overhang the sheer cliff, slightly. Small rocks crash to the ground from time to time, falling from some unseen ledge high above. Oddly, many of the tall evergreens that grow here seem to lean toward the mountain, likely a result of the relentless wind that blows in from the north and west. Only the occasional sound of some animal can be heard over the continuously howling wind. You see exits leading northeast, southwest and up.

I'm not using #tag anywhere

Thanks

How do I view the bottom, left and right button bars. Do I have to create them first?

At a guess its picking up on the 'down' in 'The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth'. I have a similar problem occasionally with it picking up exits in room descriptions. I'm guessing in the example you posted, it probably found exits north, and west as well.

I think You are best either #SUB'ing out the weather description, or alternatively increasing the 'Exits start line' in the mapper's configuration, but thats just an initial guess.

The original post is a year old. Stephenos accidentally reopened this old forgotten discussion. Stephenos, do you still have questions regarding the mapper?
