The Package Library |
I was rereading some old threads (insomnia is a great thing :D) and came across a couple talking about the package library, in which they mention two things:
1) Private areas of the Package Library
2) Package Dependencies
both of which were apparently on the cards as features for the future. I just thought I'd bring them up again and see if they're still planned. |

Yes, eventually, but not for a while. Too much other stuff to be done first.

What would be really cool is the ability to set permissions on who can use your packages. I sell certain scripts for "game credits" and I just e-mail them out to people. Obviously, they could share those scripts with other people, but the honor system works fairly well. With the package server in the picture, however, I could use it as a great way to notify everyone of new versions and give them the option to download and install the latest or not. For now, I'm just planning to release free add-ons to paid scripts or packages that don't rely on my paid scripts.
