What is the difference in code base?
 
Can someone pls explain to me the difference between SMAUG, ROM, and COOLCODE?

You can probably find the relevant information at their websites. That would appear to be www.rom.org for ROM and www.smaug.org for SMAUG. I've never heard of COOLCODE and Google didn't yield anything that looked useful.

This forum is for discussing zMUD, not various MUD codebases. You can probably find forums that deal with codebases elsewhere (such as the above sites, possibly), and have a much better chance of getting helpful answers.

Hello. just now got a chance to surf the forums. Rom is a diku derivitive, many useful option. Smaug im not that familiar with yet, ive tried to stay diku, but coolcode refers to the coolmud codebase, which is a RoT 1.4wolc derivitive. Not a bad starting pack for newbie mud admin, if you have any questions bout rot or one of the derivitives of it, just ask. Ive used most of em :-)
