upgrading and #find

After upgrading from 6.16 to 6.40, #find no longer works for me. My maps seem to have been imported perfectly. A look command is issued to the mud and I see the mapper switch from follow mode to map mode but nothing else seems to happen. I run WinXP on an AMD platform w/ 256 MB ram. The map consists of one big zone. I tried creating a new map (new rooms are created quite successfully - follow mode works fine, too) but #find still refused to work for me.

I tried, in the past, to upgrade to 6.39 but had the same problem and reverted to 6.16 - I figured I'd just wait for the next public version. Could someone please help me? I don't really know how to go about trouble-shooting this.

This should probably go in a seperate post, but... The new version has a much thicker window border. Is there any way to shrink that white bar on the left side of the screen? Or at least change its color to match the background (without changing my global WindowsXP theme).
