Resizing windows & using non-zmud directories |
I actually have two questions here.. I have the full version of zMUD 6.16. I recently had to reinstall it because I did some dumb stuff, and I found out that it's storing 'chardb.dat' in the drive's root directory (I have the program installed in d:zmud and it's putting the file in d:, even though all my settings point to d:zmud). I deleted it once, thinking it accidentally wandered there, but then zMUD wouldn't work.
My second problem is probably quite simple, but I just can't figure it out. I have issues when resizing windows while playing in zMUD. I don't know what I did, but now all my windows are full screen and block out the menu options at the top (File, Edit, etc). I originally had the connected character window docked to the previously mentioned section, but now it either docks a full new window (with another set of "Chars," "Settings," "Classes..." "Quit," etc). If I make it a full screen, it blocks out my File, Edit stuff and if I click on one of those menus, it makes a big blank screen for zMUD and completely hides my character screen.
I'm not sure I'm portraying exactly what I'm intending, but if anyone could help, it would be appreciated. I've almost died twice by moving my mouse and having the File, Edit menu up top pop down and take my cursor and typing abilities away from my command line. =( |

As long as it's working, I'd let zMUD put the chardb.dat file wherever it wants.
There's an option in the Preferences Windows (Window Options) section for "Bring menu bar to front when cursor moved to top of window". There's an option in Preferences, General (User Interface) for "Main Tool bar".
Other than that, try following the usual advice for messed up windows (reset all windows, delete settings.dok, zmud.ini, etc.)

I figured I would just leave the files where they were unless there was some setting I wasn't aware of.
As for resetting and deleting files, I've not found any way to reset them back to the way they used to be. I'll always have a second tool bar on the connected character window. There isn't a way to remove it? I know it wasn't there before... |
