Keypad deleted

While transferring settings between two computeres I deleted all settings on one computer, but I went too far and deleted the system folder too, and now my keypad no longer works.

Please tell me how to restore my system folder, the other computer still works, however everything in the system folder appears empty.

I did that (well part of it, just the n,w,s,e the others have been defined in diag as something else)

And now I can move, but the mapper doesn't follow me.

I'm also worried I messed up something else.

Your best option would be to let zMUD recreate the settings in the system class. To do that, first export all of your current settings to a text file. I don't have zMUD in front of me right now but it should be something like Settings|Export|Text.

Afterwards, delete your settings file (make a backup just in case) and open up your character. zMUD should create a new, blank one for you with all of the default settings in it. Then, you can re-import your settings by doing Settings|Import|Script (ASCII).

for the keypad, is there a way of editing the defaults. like 8 sends n, is there a way to alter it to send north? it's easy to just hit a button to move in a direction when building or in a certain situation and sometimes I don't want just the first letter sent.

Thanks,

The defaults are inherited settings taken from the default.mud file (or perhaps custom.mud or global.mud), and thus are technically uneditable.

However, you can override these defaults with more macros. Once those are created it's just a matter of flipping both classes on or off (you cannot put the new macros in with the old, though, because inherited settings ALWAYS load first).
