Good day. My computer was formatted recently and I neglected to backup whatever zmud files I had. With some file salvage programs I managed to get a .mud file back. What is this file and does it contain all the aliases and triggers and whatever other information that I had with my character? If yes where should I stick this?
Thank you very much.
.MUD files contain settings and preferences, among other things. It depends on which .MUD file you salvaged, though. Default.mud won't have any of the settings you created yourself, and a .mud file different from the one you want isn't going to help much either unless they were moreorless copies of each other.
You should stick this in the ZMUD/mudname directory that gets created when you create a new character and log on. You'll probably want to click the Edit button for the character and insert the filename in there as well.
