configuring the mapper for MU* admins |
Hello,
If anyone has the time, I would very much appreciate a little help
with some insights into how to configure the mapper in zmud to help
me create zone maps using the wizard command :at - in other words
for zmud to make me a map without me actually walking in the rooms,
but by using ":at xxx :stat room" instead. This would be a HUGE HUGE
benefit for me - as a supervisor of architects I have a lot of these
to go through.
I have included two rooms below, I would like to be able to parse
all the rooms for all the data and be able to come out with a nice
little map at the end. Preferably I'd be able to colour code this as
I please too, for example have some way of colour coding forest
rooms green, etc. I understand a lot of this maybe possible by
overriding what the mapper considers the prompt?
I have purchesed Zmapper hoping for more actual mapping functionality
but unfortunately zmapper is more of a display, as opposed to parsing
tool.
Thanks you for your time.

Should I presume that this is not possible?

It is possible, it is just beyond the scope of what can be done with the forums. Let me explain that, the scripts involved are suffciently complex that they could not be entirely debugged offline. While I could write everything needful to capture and create the rooms, it is likely you would not be able to understand it, and hence you wouldn't be able to debug it. So that means you would be requesting help to fix it, and I wouldn't be able to understand what you say it is doing wrong. Furthermore I would have to know what to do with many more data fields then you mentioned, even if what I should be doing with them is ignoring them.
If you really want to do this give me a 10 room sample that displays you issuing the commands and everything the mud sent so I have some idea how to filter just the data you want, also try to make your sample include as much variety of data as possible. So I can try to isolate problems for you. |
