Format of .map files? |
I have a text file for each rooms in my mud along with exits, descriptions etc. I would like to create a .map file from this source.
Has anyone figured out (or would Zuggsoft) release the file format so that I can do this without having to figure it out myself?
I'm using zMUD 6.26a beta
Thanks. |

Zugg is not going to tell anyone how the current (old) format works because it is being replaced by a standardized format (that being a JET 4.0 database, which means you'll be able to open the mapfile with MS Access and see EVERYTHING about your map). This new database format is currently found in the 6.30 beta version as well as within the ZMapper product.

You can, however, create a map offline using zMUD. See Introduction to Mapping in the zMUD helpfile, especially the subtopics Editing Your Map, Advanced Mapping, and Manual Mapper Configuration.

Didn't realise 6.30 was out. I'll see if I can dig it out if it's on general release.
Also I have about a thousand rooms that'd take an age to make offline.
Thanks. |
