Can I use developers kit for free (own use)?

I heard some rumor that you can do it but the developer's kit help file says you must register even for your own use.. So what gives?

Yes, you can use it for free. You can't however, distribute plugins you create with it.

From http://www.zuggsoft.com/devkit/devkitinfo.htm:

quote:
"The zMUD Developer's Kit allows you to create plugins for zMUD. You need to use a compiler capable of producing a Windows DLL file which zMUD loads as a plugin when you follow the instructions in the DevKit. While you can download the DevKit for free and look at it, plugins will not load into zMUD unless the DevKit is registered. Also, the user must have a registered version of zMUD in order to use plugins."

In that case Zugg pages and the DevKit help files should be updated.
