Automapper - what am I missing?! |
I hope there is something really tiny that I am not doing right here, but, here is my trouble:
[EDIT: Here is a log file of what I see moving about... ignore the directional letters, it doesn't see those hehe

Newbie Atrium
Forest surrounds this room, with a small gazebo in the center. Small exotic
birds fly above the treetops, and woodland creatures often stop to greet
clan members. A large fountain, with the image of young children carved on
the side, is a very dominant feature in this room. It is rumored that drinking
from this magical fountain holds the secret to eternal youth but...nah.

Resurrector Room
Herbs and books with exotic texts line the oaken bookshelves in this room. A
young alchemist, dabbling in the dark art of resurrection, runs around in a
frenzy, pulling down items given to him by the gods to aid in the resurrection
of those new to the realm. A small altar is in the center of the room, perfect
for a corpse to be laid on... inscribed on silver markings are the words..
resurrect corpse.

A small axe has been dropped here.
A heavy dirk with the symbol of the Shire on the pommel gleams dully.
A stony staff lies forgotten on the ground.

The Newbie Alchemist is here, ready to help you resurrect your corpse.

Corpse Retrieval Room
Gold runes line the walls of this simple room, and an extravagant rune lies
on the floor. This is where your corpse will appear if you are defeated in
battle. The mage standing in the corning mentions, maybe you should go see
the resurrector now...
There is a bright sign on the wall here - Look at it! (look sign)

Soooo, for example, the first room above would be named something like "Forest surrounds this room, with a small gazebo etc etc" instead of "Newbie Atrium" ... it's like it just skips right over the room name. |

The prolem is quite simple, you have no prompt to speak of. Try reading your muds help files and see if you can change your prompt to something that stands out.

If I use a prompt, the room name is always on the same line as the prompt when I switch rooms. And the automapper will ignore the entire line still. :(

Most muds have a special character to force a new line in the prompt. While that can become a bit spammy it is well worth using all the time, the first benefit is your mapper will work. The second is trigger can be more readily written to be secured by both beginning and end of line markers, this vastly reduces the chances of other players spoofing a trigger.
