DB Scripting Confusion

I've read through the help files, these forums, and still can't seem to get the most basic of records to write to a DB within Zmud 6.26a.
I created an alias called "dbtest" and here is what it does:
#ADDKEY newrecord keywords Testing
#DBLOAD eq
#NEW @newrecord
#DBSAVE
The "keywords" field is type "Text". I also tried (first) a trigger to capture a line from the mud, and capture parts of it to vars, then to the DB (using various examples here in the forums) and still couldn't get anything to work.
Is there something wrong with the basic syntax I'm using in that "dbtest" alias above?

Just figured out what my problem was, and corrected it. Everything seems to be working just fine now.
