Where to begin...

Being new to ZMud, I have to ask..where to begin.

I have only worked with basic scripts. I was going to start with the manual for 5.54. I am using 6.15. Is that a good place to start?

Also, the message boards for the game I play list a plug-in for ZMud. the "Rose" plug in?

I didn't notice it anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any assistance! :)

I never heard of the "Rose" plugin, you should probably ask about it on the message board where you saw it listed.

The best place to start would probably be the "Getting Started" topics in the helpfile. Just click on the Help Menu and select Contents, then Getting Started.

It might be a good idea to go ahead and upgrade to 6.16, the latest public version.

The Rose plugin has its own thread over on the DGate Community EZBoards forums, started under either the Ayric Glinder account name or the Thandril-something account name. If it's still up and active, there should be a link in that post.

Anyways, best advice I can give about learning how to code is to pick a spot and start reading--if you're wanting to quickly get up and running and are somewhat comfortable with "basic" things like how to create a new trigger, I suggest making the Command/Function Wizard your new best friend (this can be found under the main Help menu).
