Problem with the mapper

Hey all. I'm not sure what's going on here. My mapper will follow me ONLY when in mapping mode. If I'm in follow mode, it doesn't follow me. It just stays in the same room. Can someone help me trouble shoot this? Tell me what could cause this to happen? Thanks
