Zmud 6.16 crashing W2K when exe'ing a path |
I thgought I had a corrupt settings file. I tried and tried and tried to get the problem worked out to no avail.
I re-installed Zmud after un-licensing, renaming all previous backed up zmud folders. Started a new Char database, and started adding aliases, triggers, etc.
When I did a path:
#path tobrick {hold opal;wear all;6s2e10s;get brick crack;10n2w6n}
This is when it would crash W2K with a BOD (bluescreen of death).
Maybe it is because paths are not allowed to have multi commands like I have put in in addition to directions.
This puzzles me since I had an abnormally long alias:
tont {...... like 40+ dir abbreviations separated by semi-colons} was also crashing W2K with a BOD.
I am starting to think I should almost re-install W2K.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Frustrated,

Try changing your send delay
quote:
Darker:
For those having problems, try using the Sendline Delay in zMUD's preferences instead of wait. Sendline Delay allows you to set a number of milliseconds that must pass between instructions sent to the mud by zMUD.

Thanks! I wish I would have tried the solution mentioned in that thread before! I did some experimenting and even a sendline delay of 1 takes care of the problem. After playing with it for a little while I was brave and tried to set it back to 0. And guess what... It crashed W2K.
I would be really curious as to why sending commands so quickly will so thouroughly confuse W2K!
Thanks!

This would normally be cause by driver problems under Win2K. Since what we are talking about happens when you send commands to fast, then it seems likely to be a problem with your modem/network card driver.

I found out that indeed my driver for my network card was slightly off! With the right driver I do not even need the sendline delay :)
I had installed a v5 driver when the card was only a v4! It is the Linksys LNE100TX.
Thanks for all the help!

I am still having problems when I put in the command line 35+ direction commands separated by ;s. I know I havew the correct driver now and if I limit my use to Paths and Aliases that use this sendline delay I am fine.
Perplexed,
