Help me please (mapper problem) |
Hello, I am currently playing Achaea, and anyone who's seen it knows how large the world is. Sometimes when I use the automapper, I can click a room 20 rooms away and go there with no problem. Most of the time however, the mapper won't go to a room that's even one square away. Also, the mapper will make door links in rooms that have no doors, and while speedwalking to a room with no doors between the starting room and ending room there will be a command like open nw, when there is no door to open. I am using Windows 98, and the 6.22 BETA version of ZMUD, but this problem happens with official versions too. One last thing, is the automapper supposed to open doors automatically, because these "fake" door links will prevent me from moving to the next room (if there is one door link in a path of 10 rooms, then the mapper will not walk to the selected room at all.)
PLEASE HELP! |

The autodoor creation portion of the mapper creates a door whenever you pass an exit that the mapper did not detect. Therefore whenever it created a door that does not exist it indicates that the mapper was improperly configured. I seem to recall someone else having a problem with Achaea, so you could read your way through the forum to find the solution that was arrived at, or you can post a capture of 3 rooms. At least one of those rooms must be a problem room, which means one you know was entered first thus creating the unknown links.
You will have to manually set all links that are not actually a door to normal, as there is no script command to unset a door in a given direction.
If you don't care to find the error in configuring the mapper then you can simply turn off the automatic door creation and fix all the problems with your current map. |
