Quitting problems |
Whenever I try to quit Zmud (6.16), it gives me an error message that says it had trouble saving my settings, and then some sort of access violation. Then it crashes, and I have to shut it down some other way. Is it because I'm using Windows XP, or is it some other problem?
Thanks. |

Seems your settings file is corrupted. Follow the steps in the Corrupted Settings section of the Migration Guide.

1. First, find the *.MUD file for your character. It is usually in the folder for the MUD you are playing, within the ZMUD directory.

I don't have any .MUD files except the 'default' one that came with the program, because it can't save anything at all when I try. |

No .mud file anywhere inside the zMUD folder or any folder inside the zMUD folder?
Maybe, then, zMUD is trying to write to default.mud and it can't for some reason. In the character selection screen, select your character and click Edit. Go into the Files tab and change you Primary Settings File to some other file (just make a name up for it and put .mud at the end). You can also change the Subfolder box if you want to save your settings in some folder. Now click on Save and try using your character, creating settings and saving them.
