Button help.. |
I'm having a button problem. I have 2 characters. One who is a warrio and just has 2 buttons that rescue my cleric. The other buttons my cleric has which are 8 for casting spells. Everytime I close my zmud client and go back in my warrior has the clerics buttons. Can someone please give me step by step instructions on what I'm doing wrong. Someone said to change the class and multifunction button? I don't know what that means.

Tell us a bit about your setup. I would expect that you have three settings files: the warrior's settings file, the cleric's settings file, each as that character's primary file, and a common settings file for use as the two characters' inherited settings.
Ideally, the warrior's buttons should be saved in its primary file and the cleric's buttons should be saved to its primary file.

From the character selection screen, select the cleric and click the Edit button. Select the Files tab and click on the folder icon (browse) next to Primary. In the window that lists the files, right click the matching filename and select Copy. Right click in the empty space after the files and select Paste. If you've done this correctly you should now have "Copy of nameof.mud". Rename this as "cleric.mud", and select it for your Primary file. Click the Save button.
Repeat for the warrior, naming the file warrior.mud (or other names of your choice).
With the warrior selected, click Offline. Click on the Butttons button, and delete all the cleric buttons you don't want. Close the settings window. From the File menu, click Close window to return to the character selection screen. If necessary, open the cleric offline and delete the warrior buttons. And of course, you can remove any other settings (triggers, aliases, etc) that only apply to one or the other using similar methods. They should now be ready to use.
