Problem with text disappearing

Hello, Ever since I downloaded the latest version of Zmud (not the beta) I've had different problems. The latest is that letters disappear from my screen. They do not appear until I click on the window in question.
What happens is that I am playing on and entering commands. Suddenly, as the scroll moves up, several lines, seemingly with random intervalls, go blank. I cannot read anything that happens in the game unless I click on the window after each and every command I type in.
It starts after I've played for 15-45 minutes and then doesn't stop even when I restart the program.
I've considered it might be because of the buffert, but I have it at the preset standard number and that is as low as I am willing to get if I am going to get anything out of Zmud.
/Somewhat frustrated soon to be Gmud user

Ps: Anyone know if I can "unupgrade" Zmud? I'd rather just go back to using a program that isn't disfunct.

Odd, I've had no problems with the new one malfunctioning in ways like that. Upgrade yer computer.

For tomarrow is another day, and other days come but 6 times a week.

When upgrading, small corruptions in your .mud files have a way of getting larger. Best solution is probably to backup settings in/delete/recreate your .mud files and then import the settings you backed up.

Check out the migration guide:

This sounds like it's a video card or memory problem, instead of zMUD or settings - since it's characters that disappear until you click on the screen. I'd check to make sure you've got the latest drivers.

I've just had a similar problem - forcing me to re-install

With mine the text ALL went AWOL. No text, at all... even in the prefences section with the sample MUD output... nada.

Very wierd... I hope this re-install fixes it.

Thanks for some constructive answers. I think I will try reinstalling. The suggestion to upgrade my computer seems rather odd to me, since I can't see why playing a non-graphical game would require more than 128 mbs of ram and a 500 mhz processor. As for graphical card, I have 8 mb which allows me to play 90% of the graphical games I want to play and if a client for a text game takes more than that, I'd rather pick another client than spend money on a new card.
As for the settings, I looked into the instructions and hope I can scrap the old the settings entirely since I have never used them.
Unfortunately I don't find the help-guide very useful to me. It seems that I need to know what the problem is caused by in order to have any use for it. It isn't structured after questions and problems, it's structured after commands and features.
