Multiplaying

I have just downloaded and bought Zmud ver. 6.16
For some reason i can't multiplay. I.e. everytime, after having a window open and sesion running, I try to open a new char, (on the same or another mu*), the previous window is closed.
I try to do that wuth the File Open command (the Another Character menu command described in the help file does not seem to exist in this version).
Can anyone help ?

Thanx

Your previous window is not closed. What happens is that when you click on File|Open, the Character Database window is brought up so you can select another character to open. Once you select a character, you go back to your previous window and there should now be another tab for the second character you opened.

Unfortunately tha's not what happens, that is, the previous windows disappears (and the connection lost), and the zmud toolbar as well.
What I see is a windows without tabs.

It seems then that you are trying to open a character that has a layout saved. If this is the case, then you need to first stop that character from using the layout. You can do this in the character database by selecting the character with the layout, clicking on Edit and looking under the Files tab. Uncheck the Use Layout checkbox.

Now, open the first character and then the second one. If the layout is not being used anymore, both characters should appears int he same window, each in its own tab. Now you can save the layout.

When you do this, the layout saves with both characters open so now you just need to open the first character and the second one opens up automatically.
