Database -getting started-

Hi
I'm having trouble understanding how to use the database in Zmud. What I want to do is make an equipment database that automatically adds equipment when I identify it. Our identify message looks like this:
[Object] Light of Asymptopia
Type: light
Level: 56
Wear Position: take.
Extra flags: no_locate artifact burn_proof.
Engraved with [None].
Weight: 0, Value: 0.
Worth: 56.
Quality: 100.
Condition: 100.
Affects dexterity by 5.
Affects hp by 200.
Affects ts by 300.
Affects none by 0.
Adds detect_invis detect_hidden pass_door affect.

So I'd like to capture that information and have it added into a database but when you send me a line of code I would also like to know what each part of it is doing because I'd like to understand it if I need to make changes.
I would also like to know how it can be done by clicking on the DB button for if I need to manualy add in some fields or notes. If you can please send me more than one variation.
Thanks in advance

Nobody can answer this for me?
Can you give me any clues?
Does anybody out there use the database in this way?

A great place to learn how to put that all together with an example is Troubadour's work with the Realms of Despair -- Equipment Database Script:
