major multiplaying bug?

i am on the newest public version of zmud
(6.16 i think?) and multiplay has outright
quit on me. i can bring up the character
database like normal while playing on 1
window, but when i open up a 2nd window, the
first window disappears and the character
is linkdead...the 2nd character connects,
but there is no toolbar and the character
database window remains open...in short, it
quits my open window and starts behaving
erratically. yesterday i created gauge
bars for my chars and made some global
settings, but i highly doubt that should put
a halt to doing something as simple as
opening a second window. any ideas, guys?

Perhaps this is more of a problem with the MUD you are playing rather than ZMUD. Many MUDs do not allow multiplaying, and some will disconnect characters whoa re connecting from the same IP. You should probably enquire with the Imms on the MUD you are playing on.

Check both (all) of your characters to ensure you don't have "Lock layout" selected.

And don't forget that you can only have one layout opened for ALL connected characters.

thanks lightbulb and mattloften.

this sounds like it's the problem,
i did temporarily have lock layout, but i
turned it back off.
i have hit "save layout" on some of my windows, how do i get zmud to disregard
the saved layouts? i checked in the zmud
folder and i have several *.lay files, but
deleteing them doesn't work.
there's a "save layout" button, why isn't
there a "load layout" button? anyone know
how to do something to that effect?
