period behind my trigger?

I just upgraded from 4.62 to 6.16 quite a difference.. but I figured it was time.. so I import on of my .mud files and when I nod at a creature in 4.62 then my char would backstab the creature.. now the trigger types in backstab (creature). with the period, It will not work.. the trigger is as follows:
trigger: Vimli nods in agreement to (*) (*)*
command: bs %2
but Like I said.. it puts a . after %2 which is no good.. anyone know how to fix this?
