having problem with zones

i read the help file on zones and it indicated i could replace a mansion on the mud with a single room that led to a zone that held the area i wanted to map. this was suposed to reduce clutter. i moved the room to a zone then started exploring and it started overuning stuff i made the zone to avoid. where did i go wrong?

It sounds like you didn't select the room you were in to be the current one. The room on tha map that is marked with a blue dot is the one that zMUD thinks you are currently in.
So if you create/move a room on a new zone, and don't mark it as being the one you are in, zMUD continues mapping somewhere else.

To mark the current zoom, just right-click on it and choose 'Set current position'
