Invalid Page Fault-cannot run zmud? |
I have zmud at home on my PC and it runs fine. Here at work, I have a Mac and recently got Virtual PC, which seems to run all other types of PC software just fine. However I have been trying to run Zmud 6.16, but each time I start the program I get the following error message:
Zmud caused an invalid page fault in module VTCPAK24.DLL
Then it wont go any further. Do any of you have an idea of how I might fix this? |

The VTCPAK24.DLL is part of eLicense, I expect it can't cope with your virtual PC, you'll have to talk to either the eLicense people or Virtual PC people..
You could try v5.55 or 4.62 of zMUD to see with it works without eLicense.

You could also try the 6.22 beta version, as it uses the latest version of eLicense and may work better.

I tried zmud 6.22 and got the same error except now it has a problem with vtcpak32.dll instead of vtcpak24.dll.
What part of Windows does eLicence work with? Right now, I have Windows98 SE installed on the Virtual PC, but I may need some updates for it. Alternatively, I could install a newer version of Windows, if there is something missing from my current version.
Before I go to that trouble, though, it would be nice to know if this would have any chance of fixing the problem. |

Not sure any of those solutions will work. Elicense probably just won't work through the emulator (er, Virtual PC). It should work fine on a normal win98 system.
