Problems with License key |
Hi, so I had to re-install windows (not a full C-drive wipe, but enough so that all programs had to be reinstalled). When I had to re-install C-mud I could not remember which version i had Cmud or Cmudpro so I installed both. I later found out it was not the pro version so I uninstalled that one again. My Cmud normal installation prompted me for a license key, and ofc. my old one didn't work. So Zugg was kind enough to send a new key, but alas Cmud will simply not accept it. It keeps saying invalid name or license key, but in Cmud it says registred to me. BUT each time I start up it counts down from 30 days and now I'm at 6 days. I did a COMPLETE uninstall of ALL zugg soft, Cmud everything. Cleaned as much as I could from registry but still no go. Each time I install a new version and put in an updated license, it says wrong name or license key.
Please help! In my latest attempt I even went so far to wipe EVERYTHING, so regardless I have to start from scratch with triggers, maps, aliases etc. |

Hopefully you've gotten this taken care of?
I register so seldom sometimes I forget: the keys aren't valid indefinitely any more. You need to log into the store (separate login) and get a current key. Is that what you were doing? |

Actually yes, I've recieved several new codes, but none of them are accepted. And only 2 days until I'm locked out :( |

Is the OS registered in the same name as CMUD?
Not sure why that would matter, but that's what it sounds like might be the issue. |

If OS you mean Operating System, then yes actually. When I open Cmud even after uninstalling numerous times, it says Registred to: my name
which does not contain any of my middle names. The new licenses I've gotten has my middelnames in them, so that might be the issue.
I can see the first license I ever got was without my middle names, which I guess is why it's registred to that name? |

I've never had an issue like that (Win NT trough Win 11, each version except Vista). While the O/S ownership eventually tracks back to me the registration details including email don't match.
I _have_ had problems inadvertently mismatching cmud versions (pro vs regular, and possibly major versions- I've purchased it a few times possibly with different email addresses).
My mistake, but the most recent install this spring took three tries. |

I apologize for the delay in my response. I spent some unexpected time in the hospital.
The 'invalid name' error means that the key you are entering does not match the program you have downloaded. Please double check.
I'll be catching up with email tomorrow. |
