zMud -> cMud? |
I recently decided to start playing my old mud again. Downloaded zmud, got the licensing sorted out, started it up with errors (I am running Windows 10. I realise that 7 and 8 are not supported, but I'm going to continue anyway). Put it in compatibility mode for XP SP 3 and had a blast for three nights last weekend. This weekend, it pops up with various errors again, and no matter which mode I put it in, it doesn't work.
I've read that "replacing sqlite.dll" fixes it, but replace it with what? Where can I download that from a site that doesn't look sheisty? That's really the only solution I've discovered.
All my mud friends have pretty much said lol good luck and that only cmud is supported now, which okay... I downloaded the program and it's a 30 day trial. The problem I have with this is that I bought zmud back in the day. Do I really need to buy cmud now? I loved the features of zmud and tried a few other clients back in the day, but is there no other option Zugg can provide aside from purchasing cmud too?
I'm already looking at other (free) options. I'd prefer to keep the Zugg family, mostly because I'm familiar with it and have files already set up and at least easy to tailor. But I'm sorry guys, I'm not in a position to be paying again. Is there another option? |

Unfortunately CMUD is a separate product from zMUD.
There was a period where prior users could buy it at a discount.
Pretty sure that has since expired, since CMUD is no longer being actively worked on.
Still, CMUD is half the price of any new console game, and likely to offer far more hours of enjoyment. |

Thank you for the reply. Right now an investment is not something I can really make for mudding. I'm already spending too much time on various ftp games, while working and going to school full time. I was hoping there was a solution, but I'll probably just set mudding to the side, or chat with old friends on them.
(Also, best wishes/prayers/whatever are appreciated so I can have free time to waste on muds again ) |
