Parse, wait, or...alarm?

I'm having some issues with trying to set up a trigger, actually, a few have this same common issue.
I have an attack or even in one case a cure that has to be set up with no interruptions, so should another trigger fire before the secondary syntax is received it will abort said attack or cure.

"You pull your sword arm back, waiting for an opening."
(Initial syntax for attack) #pause +4?
"You swing your blade in a wide arch slashing your opponent."
^Until this is received any other triggers would abort the attack itself.
Any help would be great. I'm not as code suave as most of the people on these forums, but I'm sure I can pick up on things with a little help.

I would suggest the use of #T- and #T+ to toggle a class (folder) that would contain those settings you wish to ensure do not fire in the interregnum.
