XYZ tells you 'rem sword'
xyz tells you'wield dagger'

etc?

i'm not sure what variables i would need to use to duplicate the command being given.

Would work, but you should check to make sure %1 is a trusted person, and perhaps %2 against a list of commands you want them to be able to have you do.
