Making a multi state trigger for group gauge?

HI guys I am trying to make gauges for each group member. What it looks like is this when full:
Chuck's FORMATION
[ Joe ] [ Chuck ] [ Pete ]
[ Bill ] [ Boby ] [ Dan ]
[ Chris ] [ Jake ] [ Jhon ]
Not being full it looks like this:
Chucks's FORMATION
[ Jake ] [ Chuck ] [ ---- ]
[ ---- ] [ ---- ] [ ---- ]
[ ---- ] [ ---- ] [ ---- ]
it is possible to make a multi state trigger that moves on to the next line if it looks the same as one of the other lines?
