Cmud abandonware?

I bought Cmud some time ago and I stopped playing muds until just recently when I got the itch. I was surprised to find there were no updates at all since the last time I used CMud. So, is it basically abandoned? Has Zugg stopped working on it entirely? If so has he ever mentioned about making it open source so the community can continue to improve it?
