Cmud starts after multiple attempts [Cmud Pro 3.34]

Noticed this on one of my computers only. When I click the shortcut, or start cmud from the command line in windows 7 x86, I get the little spinning "i'm thinking" cursor, but the app doesn't start. Sometimes I have to try to start Cmud 20 times or so before it opens. It doesn't seem to be crashing, and there's nothing in my event log related to this. Any ideas why this won't start up on the first try? thanks in advance.
