Error while unpacking program, code 2. Please report to author.

Downloaded some routine windows update files last night. I have Vista. Today whenever I try to bring up CMUD, I get the following error :
Error while unpacking program, code 2. Please report to author.
No idea what to do with that. Tried uninstalling completely and reinstalling and still get the same thing. |

Thank you for finding that and posting.
Unfortunately, I do not have the slightest idea how to uninstall a windows update and the thought of trying to figure it out makes my eye teeth ache. |

FYI, I was using service pack 1 when I updated and the problem emerged. Over the course of the day today I updated to service pack 2 for Vista and the problem seemed to fix itself.

For future reference, to uninstall windows updates you go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, click View installed updates in the left menu, then find the update you want to uninstall (you can't sort by KB number, unfortunately), right-click it and choose uninstall.
