Speed question about adding to and comparing database variables and stringlists

So, I'm making a script, and want to test its speed. I read something about ctrl+q and something about [esc].
Anyway, how can I know, or how can I test which variable set up will be faster? It would be interesting to test speeds.

1. First speed question (adding):
(First set)I will be putting 8 lines of data into either a stringlist with 8 items, a database with 8 items, or 8 variables, Using one of these:
#variable
#addkey
%additem

2. Second speed question (comparing 1 to 2):
And I will want to compare that to anywhere from 1 to 260 sets. (1 set equal 8 items) I think I could "gather" these "second sets" into 26 database variables with 10 sets each. Or 260 stringlists.

#if (%rightback( %left( @Line, 1), 6) = "123456") {#show yes} {#show no}
I will be using %rightback and %left

I will appreciate anything concerning speed tests. Thanks!
